We are CARpel — a role model in the automotive film industry, committed to promoting outstanding Chinese manufacturing to the world.

By 2025, the automotive film market will continue to expand, with China’s market size expected to reach RMB 148.6 billion by 2026. Demand for new energy vehicle (NEV)-specific films (such as PPF and color change films) is growing significantly faster than that for traditional films.

According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, window tinting, vehicle wrapping, and audio upgrades account for 85% of the automotive modification market, with film applications ranking first.

It was based on this foresight that Dr. Shang Huihua, a postdoctoral researcher from Harvard University, founded CARpel in 2014. She has participated in and witnessed the industry’s transition from the traditional fuel vehicle era to the new energy era, technological evolution from traditional insulation films to smart materials, and industrial upgrading from standardized production to flexible intelligent manufacturing.

Amid this transformation driven by materials science and changing consumer demands, we firmly believe that high-quality Chinese manufacturing will continue to lead the industry.

With the continuous rise in vehicle ownership and the popularization of NEVs, demand scenarios and technical requirements for automotive films have fundamentally shifted — from traditional heat and UV protection for fuel vehicles to trend-driven and scenario-based value for NEVs.

As an active participant in this transformation, CARpel leverages exceptional Chinese manufacturing as its core, adhering to a strategy that balances tradition and innovation. By integrating advanced technologies, we empower automotive films with “new” capabilities, continuously elevating our brand value.

As a standard-setter in the industry, CARpel helped draft the Automotive Film Application Standard. Through technical seminars, quality specifications, and testing systems, we have established a benchmark for the entire industry.

Translating technological potential into industrial momentum — CARpel serves as an original equipment supplier of window and paint protection films for SAIC Group brands (including Volkswagen, Skoda, Roewe, and MG). We also supply GAC Fiat and Jeep, and cover leading 4S store groups across China, building an end-to-end supply chain from OEMs to terminal channels. We are committed to being the most professional supporting service provider in the automotive aftermarket.

EVOLUTION

The automotive industry has entered a new phase. Driven by technological iteration and consumption upgrades, automakers and car owners now expect composite value from automotive films rather than single functions.

In this era of diversified demand, CARpel has built an R&D system centered on materials science. From initial nano-ceramic processes to innovative multi-layer triple-silver magnetron sputtering technology, and breakthrough applications of TPU base materials, we have developed functional films including window films, paint protection films, and color change films. These products provide comprehensive safety barriers and comfort assurance — offering heat and UV insulation, signal transparency, shatterproofing, and eco-friendly benefits.

Similar to technology spillover in consumer electronics, NEVs’ stringent requirements for lightweight materials and battery thermal management have spurred demand for high-end products such as TPU-based paint protection films and optical-grade heat insulation films.

Leveraging core technologies accumulated during the fuel vehicle era, CARpel has quickly entered the NEV-specific film sector with intensive R&D and testing. We aim to use technological evolution as an anchor to transition from a “functional film supplier” to a “scenario-based solution provider,” promoting industry-wide upgrading toward smarter, greener, and higher-value solutions.

UPGRADE

In recent years, Gen Z and millennials have become the main consumer groups in the automotive market. In this era of diversified consumption, CARpel’s R&D team — led by foreign scientists from the Academy of Engineering — is reshaping the automotive film industry with “digital intelligent manufacturing.”

Through integrated production, R&D, and sales upgrades in our self-operated factories, we have established flexible, high-precision, and sustainable production chains, creating a differentiated competitive edge.

CARpel’s large functional film production base is located in Xuyi, Jiangsu, covering 112 acres with 80,000 m² of modern factory space. It includes four core production units: an automotive film intelligent manufacturing center, architectural film center, hot stamping film center, and automated coating preparation center — forming a smart manufacturing matrix that covers the entire high-end film industry chain.

Unlike many in the industry who struggle with production inconsistencies and quality traceability, CARpel implements strict visual quality control and quantifiable standards. We ensure closed-loop management from raw material procurement to finished product delivery, supported by ISO 9001 certification. Each roll of film comes with a unique traceability code that tracks production batches, process steps, and inspection data.
